David Druce

 

David Druce was invited to join the London Cantorial Singers in 1995 by the Choir’s founder Ian Lyons. At the end of 1997 when Ian tragically passed away, David took over the baton and has continued as the Musical Director since then.

David DruceUnder his leadership the membership has grown to over 30 choristers and the Choir has performed both nationally and abroad.

David’s music education commenced at an early age and he studied both piano and guitar. His love of Cantorial music evolved from the age of 9 when he joined the Hendon United Synagogue choir under the direction of  the renowned conductor Lionel Leigh and the world famous cantor Moshe Korn.

After marrying his wife Roberta the couple settled in Belmont and David joined the Synagogue choir, becoming its choirmaster in 1985.

David and his family now reside in Kenton and for a period sang with the local Synagogue choir until he was appointed the Choirmaster of the neighbouring Wembley Synagogue Choir in 2005.
